The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is an innovative dermal remodelling technique that harnesses the skin's natural healing abilities, resulting in a naturally, vibrant and healthy complexion.

The treatment promotes skin repair, restoration, renewal, and protection by boosting production of collagen and elastin. These key proteins are essential for firm, supple skin as they help connect the dermis and epidermis

The Contour Peel™ promotes the release of numerous growth factors to help restore this connection and address other skin problems. This dermal remodelling technique also helps to normalize the behaviour of pigment-producing cells in the skin and encourages the formation of a healthy skin barrier function to protect against ultraviolet radiation and free radicals that cause premature ageing.

What is the normal treatment outcome?

The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty provides a controlled inflammatory effect that facilitates the removal of damaged tissue while promoting the production of the correct type of new collagen and elastin fibres.

The solutions used for the Contour Peel™ result in either very mild, or visible “micro peeling” on the third of fourth day, followed by visibly brighter, more vibrant skin. As the treatment enhances the production of collagen and elastin, the Contour Peel™ also results in healthier, firmer, smoother looking skin.

How is the Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty different to other skin treatments?

The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is a non-traumatic approach to Advanced Collagen Induction Therapy. The treatment was designed on the basis of research demonstrating the efficacy of a specific micro needling technique shown to stimulate Type I collagen needed for the repair of healthy skin.

Other dermal needling techniques can cause significant inflammation that promotes Type III Collagen production, resulting in scar formation. These aggressive skin treatments also pose a risk of pain and excessive Injury to the skin.

The Contour Peel™ uses an exclusive micro needling technique to achieve a higher concentration of micro channels that are more evenly distributed, compared to traditional micro needling methods using a manual roller. These micro channels ensure optimal product absorption and stimulation of growth factors, while dramatically reducing discomfort.

Dermal needling is a catalyst for change in the skin, giving it a role to play in healing the skin and addressing a variety of skin problems.

Are there any contraindications for the Contour Peel™?

Although the Contour Peel™ does not compromise the skin, due to its controlled inflammatory effect, it is sensible to avoid the use of chemical peels if any of the following apply:

Pregnancy and/or breastfeeding
Allergy to aspirin
Irritated, wounded, or sunburnt skin
Active cold sores or warts in the treatment area
Autoimmune disease or immunocompromised condition
Use of medications that weaken immunity (such as steroids)
Use of Accutane (within previous 12 months)
Recent radiation treatment or chemotherapy.

The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is safe for all Fitzpatrick skin types, including darker skin and skin with problematic pigmentation (such as melasma).

It is recommended that in the week prior to the Contour Peel™, patients avoid waxing, electrolysis, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal.

Prior to the treatment the patient is providing with a pre conditioning skin kit that includes a special blend of active ingredients including a unique, encapsulated version of Retinol called LG Retinex and Retinol AGP Complex. These are safe to use up to the day prior to treatment.

In the two weeks prior to the treatment (before commencing on the prescriptive skin kit), patients must discontinue use of products containing retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA), beta hydroxyl acids (BHA) or benzoyl peroxide, including prescribed topical medications such as Retin-A, differin and Tazorac. Because these cause the skin irritation and can lead to a higher risk of causing Post Inflammatory Pigmentation (PIH).

Patients who have recently undergone surgical procedures, laser treatments, or treatments using cosmetic fillers are advised to wait until skin sensitivity has resolved entirely prior to having The Contour Peel.

Immediately post treatment it is recommend to use a skin kit that includes peptides and ingredients that are proven to boost the repair mechanism in the skin resulting in the most optimised outcome from treatment.

The Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty is an innovative new technique in the field of dermal remodelling – a field not yet well known among aesthetic professionals or the general public. The training course provides insight into this new area of research and practice, looking at the root causes of skin abnormalities and explaining how the Contour Peel™ addresses these issues.

The course will cover relevant physiology and anatomy, patient selection and assessment, the choice of chemical peel solutions and their application, in addition to patient aftercare and optimal results. Practitioners will also have an opportunity to learn about potential issues and how to avoid or address these so as to ensure a successful outcome for all patients who choose the Contour Peel™ by Medico Beauty.
