In Conversation with Kathryn Danzy, Founder of Rejuvenated Ltd

Today, we’re chatting with Kathryn Danzy, founder of Rejuvenated Ltd and creator of collagen shots and other nutritional supplements.

Kathryn Danzy has more than four decades of experience in the beauty and nutrition industries. She founded Rejuvenated Ltd, a British nutraceutical, with her husband, Robert in 2003 and it’s become an award-winning family-run company. The company creates effective nutritional products with high-grade, 100% active natural ingredients that are free from gluten, sugar, and lactose. With the exception of collagen shots, the products are vegan-friendly. 

1. How did you get started making health and beauty supplements?

I’ve worked in the beauty industry for over 45 years and studied the benefits of good nutrition in my early 20’s. In the 90’s we combined nutritional programs with in-clinic treatments. Our clients have experienced the most incredible results. They're totally rejuvenated, which is where the name of our brand came from. I worked to identify the best ingredients to create the most impact on skin and was inspired to create a daily collagen supplement - a collagen shot - which would be high potency with antioxidants and vitamins. It really was groundbreaking at the time as there were only collagen capsules on the market. We had the exact formula but couldn’t find a manufacturer who could blend so much collagen into a drink. In 2009 we finally found a company to create the formula. We wanted maximum potency at an affordable price.

2. What company achievement are you most proud of?

We feel very lucky to have so many wonderful customers and feel most proud of the kind feedback that they give us on our products and customer service.

3. Collagen supplements are growing in popularity. Often customers are unaware of what type of collagen is most useful to the skin and body. Can you please explain the differences between collagen supplements?

There is a growing trend for collagen supplements on the market in a variety of strengths and qualities. Marine collagen is the most bioavailable to our body and it’s important to look for a collagen supplement that is hydrolysed. The hydrolysation process breaks down the proteins into tiny fragments that are readily absorbed by the body. Clinical studies show that 10,000 mg of hydrolysed marine collagen combined with vitamin C will give the best results. There are many products on sale which quote these studies but have a lower doseage.

4. What are the additional health benefits can be gained from drinking collagen daily?

Collagen is quite literally the glue in our body, it’s in our digestive system, every bone, muscle, ligament and joint, not to mention hair and skin. I find it incredible that taking your daily collagen supplement will help in all these areas and still nourish the skin.

5. What is the difference between regular vitamin supplements and Collagen Shots?

Vitamin and mineral supplements are an excellent boost to supplement a healthy diet. Collagen Shots has a different emphasis. Collagen levels start to deplete from the age of 25 onwards. By taking Collagen Shots you are restoring the collagen levels that your body would have created when it was younger. This naturally helps the skin to become more youthful and have greater elasticity.

 6. How do you think health and beauty supplements will evolve over the next five years?

It’s wonderful to see that we are generally becoming more aware of how what we eat and drink has an influence on our health and appearance. Beauty from within will become the norm with women in their early 20’s embracing the concept to protect their skin for the future.

10.   How do you like to recover after a stressful day?

I love peace, while Rob, my husband is a polar opposite, he likes to have football or some other sport blaring out. I just disappear out of the way to do some yoga and deep breathing.

11.  What is your favourite wellness ritual?

Definitely walking our dog, Charlie, over the moors. You can’t fail to feel a sense of being at one with the world.
